I have been working in early childhood education for the last 14 or so years and joined Hutch Kids in May of 2016. I’m originally from Moses Lake, Washington, but have lived in Seattle for the last 7 years. I have experience with a variety of age groups, but my passion was found working with toddlers. I believe this is the age where it is most important to set a solid foundation in learning, building self confidence, and autonomy

Ghadah started as a part time float teacher at Hutch Kids in June 2016.
I am excited to join the wonderful staff at Hutch kids and to be able to spend my days playing, laughing and learning with your children. As a recent transplants from the East coast my husband, Ken, and I are having fun exploring Seattle and all of the PNW. I am a native New Englander and lifelong Red Sox fan. Before moving to Seattle, I lived in Warren Vermont and worked as a paraeducator and speech-language pathology assistant(SLPA) at the local elementary school. I miss being able to cross country ski after school; though I don’t miss the bone chilling temps or having to shovel feet of snow to let the dog out. After graduating with a BA in Economics from University of Arizona I worked in the finance industry. While my 2 children were in elementary school I returned to working in a variety of positions in the public school system. I traded the hectic world of numbers and spreadsheets for a world of little chairs, glues sticks and rounded scissors! It was the best career choice ever. In addition to exploring the PNW with Ken and Harold, our 3 year old English Springer Spaniel, I am excited to learn to sail on Puget sound this spring. Also, I love to cook, read and travel.

This is Lauren’s 14th year working in child care. She holds an AAS in Early Childhood Education and is going to continue her pursuit in higher education and get a BAS in ECE. She believes the early years are crucial to building an excitement and foundation for learning. You can naturally find math, science, writing, etc. in any kind of life experiences. Her favorite parts of the day are imaginative free play, movement, and reading time- anything that gets the body and mind going, one will be able to make connections and learn organically. She is in the process of publishing her first fictional children’s book starring her and her brothers.
Hi, my name is Lauren. I grew up in the Greater Seattle area and went to high school at Holy Names Academy on Capitol Hill and graduated from Gonzaga University with my B.A in Psychology.
